One normal approach to guarantee the security of corporate information is the successful use of passwords. A password is a secret code that one needs to open an archive, access a computer network or database. The secret word must be sufficiently complicated enough such that nobody can easy guess it but sufficiently simple for the one creating it to remember. At least six characters is recommended for length of secret key. The personal computer can be locked and secured using the password even before it completes shutting down. The third method that can be used to protect corporate data is by use of hard drive lock. This technique ensures that if the hard disk is stolen it can’t be useful to the individual who has stolen it.
